Wake County Country Club Takes Aim At Golf Course Geese

Posted Updated

RALEIGH — Animal rights groups are facing a rough battle at North Ridge Country Club in Raleigh.

They are fighting for the lives of up to 150 Canada geese that live at the golf course.

The country club has permission from the U.S. Department of Agriculture to remove and euthanize the birds.

Club officials say they have tried since 1997 to come up with a humane solution to their bird problem. They have brought in fencing, fireworks and even a $3,000 Border Collie, but the birds have not budged.
