OXFORD, N.C. — Granville County sheriff's investigators say a man wanted on first-degree murder charges fatally shot himself.

Hubert Lee Anderson, 56, was wanted in connection with the shooting death of his ex-wife, Delores Anderson, of Bullock. He was also charged with assault with a deadly weapon against another woman who was at the scene of the shooting and larceny of a motor vehicle.

Shortly before 11 a.m. Sunday, authorities received a report of a domestic dispute on J.I. Oaks Road. When sheriff's deputies arrived, they found Delores Anderson dead from a gunshot wound to the head.

Connie Almond, who was also at the scene, was shot three times.

Investigators found Anderson in Halifax County, Va. He shot and killed himself after a standoff with deputies.
