Fayetteville Bike Man Can Stay In Building For Now

Posted Updated

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Fayetteville's

Bicycle Man

can stay where he is at least for a little while longer.

For years, Moses Mathis has refurbished donated bikes and given them to Cumberland County children.

The Fayetteville-Cumberland County Martin Luther King Jr. Committee, a non-profit, bought the warehouse where he worked. It originally wanted Mathis to move.

Now, it plans to put the building up for sale.

Mathis does not have to move right away, but officials said he needs to prove he is insured and does not make a profit.
