Police say Jerry Lamons Jr. was driving his friend's car without a license when he hit two boys Friday night in Fayetteville.
A 10-year-old boy was left brain dead after that accident. Doctors took Jameel Short off life support Monday after his mother decided to donate his organs.
Lamons, of 2226 Progress St., Fayetteville, is charged with one count of involuntary manslaughter, two counts of felony hit-and-run, one count of careless/reckless driving and driving while license revoked.
Police said Lamons borrowed a car and then returned it to a friend. The friend then noticed the damage from the alleged incident and turned Lamons in.
Lamons is being held on a $27,000 bond.
