BUXTON — The National Park Service is trying to figure out if the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse is safe for visitors.
A second engineering team is expected to inspect the lighthouse stairway next week.
The Park Service closed the lighthouse for climbing when a support segment from the stairway fell several weeks ago.
