Officials Hope New Golf Course Will Score Success For Harnett County

HARNETT COUNTY — Professional golfer Davis Love III took a walk on his new golf course. Some say it is Harnett County's new field of dreams.
Anderson Creek Club will open to the public July 31. The community will eventually have more than 2,700 homes and condominiums.
The course is spread out over more than 1,700 acres in the southwestern part of the county between Pinehurst and Raleigh.
"To get yourself known in the golf course design business, you have to be in areas where there are great golf courses," says Love.
Harnett County has lost several major industries during the last two years. Anderson Creek Club is estimated to add a half-billion dollars back to the tax base.
