Former Cato Executive Joins AtheroGenics

ATLANTA, GA. — Walker Long, a former executive with Cato Research, has joined

AtheroGenics

as vice president of clinical research.

The Atlanta-based firm is focused on treatments of chronic inflammatory diseases.

Long, an MD, was senior vice president for worldwide project operations at Cato. He also is a former professor of pediatrics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he earned his medical degree. He also worked for Burroughs Welcome (now GlaxoSmithKline).
