CLINTON, N.C. — Sampson County authorities are investigating the death of a woman found dead in her home early Saturday.
The Sampson County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call at about 12:45 a.m. in reference to shots being fired on Rellie Lane in Clinton. When officers arrived at the scene, about 14 minutes later, they discovered the body of Sharlona Burnestin Peterson, 23.
A white four-door Buick Century was seen leaving the residence, authorities said.
