JOHNSTON COUNTY, N.C. — Grief counselors are at
South Johnston High School
Friday after the sudden death of a teacher and coach.
Gary Blackmon, 56, died at the hospital Friday after telling school leaders he was feeling sick. He taught business education and law at the school for more than 15 years.
Blackmon was also the girls' varsity softball and varsity basketball coach.
The school canceled all its events for the weekend.
