RALEIGH, N.C. — A former Durham City Councilman is in trouble with the law again.
Raleigh police arrested John Best at the corner of Falls of Neuse and Strickland roads just after midnight and charged him with driving while impaired.
Last month, Best was charged with assaulting his estranged wife and damaging her car, and last year, he spent two days in jail for failing to pay thousands of dollars in alimony and child support.
