AirDefense Receives Third Patent Covering Wireless Network Security

ATLANTA, GA. — AirDefense

, a provider of wireless security products for local area networks, has received its third patent related to its core technology.

The patent covers "Systems and Methods for Network Security" and "describes the broad architecture of using wireless sensors and a server to detect attacks and policy violations for wireless networks," according to AirDefense.

Protection techniques such as wireless termination, alarm generation, determination of physical location, classification of devices and forensic data storage are also covered.

In all, AirDefense has 20 other patents pending.
