FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Three suspects have been arrested in connection with a kidnapping and robbery in Fayetteville.
Authorities said 19-year-old Randall Dwight Hardin, Jr. said he was forced inside a car at gunpoint by three black males.
Hardin told investigators he was taken to a swampy area of the Ashton Forest Subdivision in Fayetteville and left there. Investigators said Hardin had been stripped of his clothing and his limbs duct-taped.
After searching for Hardin's alleged abductors, sheriff's detectives arrested Brandon Shayne Melvin, 21, of Parkton; Fred Pilchun Stuart, 23, of Fayetteville; and Bryant David Wright, 33, of Parkton.
All three suspects are in the Cumberland County Detention Center on a $125,000 secured bond. They are charged with first-degree kidnapping, robbery with a dangerous weapon and felony conspiracy.
