CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Students and faculty at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill are reclaiming the "pit." They held a rally at the gathering spot later on Monday.
The "pit" is the site of a rampage through campus that happened more than two weeks ago.
Mohammad Taheri-Azar told police he drove an SUV through the gathering spot, hurting nine people. He is due back in court Friday for another hearing.
The suspect told investigators he drove through the "pit" to avenge the deaths of Muslims around the world.
