FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A one-car accident in Fayetteville early Saturday morning killed a woman who was stationed at Pope Air Force Base.
Authorities said the accident occurred on Barefoot Road near Stoney Point Road at about 6:30 a.m., when the driver, Senior Airman Bethanie M. Ardoin, lost control of her vehicle and hit a tree.
Ardoin, 22, died at the scene.
She was with the 43rd Communication Squadron at Pope, an Air Force spokeswoman said Sunday.
