RALEIGH — One of the fixtures at Carter-Finley Stadium hasdisappeared.

The grassy bank at the south end of the stadium is beingreplaced with concrete seating. On September 6, when NorthCarolina State hosts Indiana in the season opener, the stadium will have an additional 5,700 seats.

At the north end of the stadium, there will be a $2 million scoreboard with a 24-foot-by-32-foot video screen. It willstand behind the A.E. Finley Fieldhouse.

N.C. State Athletic Director Lee Fowler says construction is onschedule, although changing weather could alter the pace.

When the last concrete is poured where the grassy bank used tobe, the stadium's capacity will remain about the same at51,500.
