RALEIGH, N.C. — Students at N.C. State University embraced Whil Piavis and his pirate costume to make him student body president, but some of his fellow colleagues on the student Senate are not happy with him.
This week, a group of student senators launched impeachment proceedings questioning Whil Piavis' leadership. But in a letter to student senators, the administration ordered them to stop the proceedings.
"These are the same people that despised me when I got into office. I'm surprised they haven't done it earlier," Piavis said.
Piavis' tenure as NC State's student body president ends in about two weeks.
Members of the student Senate are now considering a no-confidence vote. The administration plans to meet with student Senate leaders next week.
