Company Vice President Charged With Stalking High School Student

Posted Updated

RALEIGH — Raleigh police have arrested a Raleigh man for stalking a high school student.

John Thomas Margeson, 50, is charged with stalking, simple possession of marijuana and impersonating a public health official. He was arrested at his home Tuesday night. He is the chief financial officer of Trifolium Inc.

According to investigators, a description of a suspect matching Margeson and his vehicle was distributed to officers in early May after reports of a man hanging around Cardinal Gibbons High School.

Patrol officers initially arrested Margeson May 11 after noticing him in the area, and investigators followed up on that arrest, which led to the charges.

Investigators said Margeson talked to several students on campus, asking them about female students. During these conversations, he often posed as a health official.

Police said the investigation will continue and other charges may be filed.
