Bedford, VA — President Bush will be in Virginia Wednesday to help dedicate the new national D-Day memorial.
It will be located in the small town of Bedford, which is nestled in the Blue Ridge mountains. The site was chosen to honor the Americans who gave their lives on the shores of Normandy.
Thirty-five Bedford men participated in the attack; 19 died within the first 15 minutes of the invasion.
WRAL's Len Besthoff is in Bedford for the ceremony and will have a live report on the day's events during WRAL's 6:00 News.
