KENLY — A Kenly man is in critical condition following a fire at his home Tuesday morning.
Roy Godwin, 54, is being treated at UNC Hospitals. He was found near the front door of his smoke-filled, Pope Avenue home about 3:15 a.m.
The house was in flames when members of the Kenly, Micro and Polly Watson Volunteer Fire Departments arrived and pulled Godwin out.
Godwin's wife and daughter were not at home.
The fire is still under investigation, however it is believed the fire started in the garage.
