CARY, NC — McClatchy Interactive, the Internet and online publishing subsidiary of the McClatchy newspaper chain, has signed a second multi-year contract with
Hosted Solutions
for co-location services.
The McClatchy chain owns The News & Observer in Raleigh and announced on Monday that it was purchasing the Knight Ridder newspaper chain, which publishes the Charlotte Observer,
McClatchy Interactive supports the company's current 12 daily and 17 community newspapers and other clients..
Hosted Solutions will provide co-location services, high-speed bandwidth, monitoring services and 14 cabinets of equipment at its Raleigh data center.
"Subscribers rely on our Web sites and portals to deliver up-to-the-minute, breaking news and information," said Mike Dickerson, technology manager for McClatchy Interactive. "Over the last two years we have come to rely on Hosted Solutions as our partner for ensuring this delivery is not interrupted. Expanding our relationship was absolutely the best decision."
