Durham Police Search For Suspect In Fatal Shooting

DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police are searching for a suspect in a homicide early Saturday afternoon.

Police said someone shot Alvin Lee Jones, 24, of Taylor Street, in the parking lot of an apartment complex at

322 Junction Road

after he got out of his car and apparently became involved in a confrontation with several men.

The passenger in Jones' vehicle drove the victim to Duke University Hospital, where Jones was later pronounced dead.

Police had not released a motive or a specific description of the suspect as of Saturday evening, but ask that anyone with information to contact the Durham Police Department's Criminal Investigations Division at
