Rip Tide Forecasting Will Make Beach A Safer Place To Be

print friendly

North Carolina beachgoers will have a new forecast to help them stay safe this summer.

The National Weather Service in Wilmington is adding rip tide conditions to its updates for the first time ever. People caught in rip tides make up about 80 percent of all surf-related rescues across the country. The weather service will list the rip tide risk as either dangerous, increasing, or low.
