RALEIGH, N.C. — Authorities apprehended a man who led them on a car and foot chase through two counties.
Investigators say 29-year-old Bradley Eric Purdy took off in a stolen car around 9:15 a.m. Tuesday from downtown Clayton in Johnston County. Deputies chased him for about 10 minutes at speeds over 100 mph.
Deputies say Purdy ran the car into a ditch near Bissette Road in Wake County and headed on foot to a nearby wooded area.
Authorities used a helicopter and a K-9 unit to track Purdy. He was taken into custody a short time later near Turnip Seed Road.
After arresting him, authorities discovered Purdy was wanted by the U.S. Marshal's office for weapons violations.
