I-95 Reopens After Logs Spill on Highway
Northbound lanes of Interstate 95 in Halifax County reopened Monday afternoon after a logging truck overturned near Halifax, authorities said.

A car driven by Naha Atallah of Springfield, Va., ran off the road to the left about noon, hit the guard rail and bounced back into the roadway, where it collided with the logging truck near mile marker 166, authorities said. Logs scattered across the northbound side of I-95, authorities said.
Atallah and her father, Edmund Atallah, also of Springfield, were taken to Halifax Regional Medical Center and were then airlifted to Pitt Memorial Hospital. Their conditions were unknown Monday evening.
The truck driver, Rudolph Edgerton of Louisburg, was taken to Halifax Regional and was listed in stable condition.
Atallah was charged with a lane violation, authorities said.
I-95 reopened about 4:30 p.m.
