Hearing Related To Wake School Fraud Case Scheduled For Friday

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — A court hearing concerning the Wake Schools fraud case is scheduled for Friday morning, but the district attorney's office will not say what the meeting is about.

The hearing could involve the company whose employees were at the center of the case. Barnes Motor and Parts was indicted in the $3.8 million fraud scheme.

The company already said it would plead guilty. Any fines would go to the school system.

Several former Wake Schools transportation employees and managers from the parts company pleaded guilty to diverting money with orders for fake parts.
