Fayetteville investigators charged two teachers with Hoke County schools with four counts each of sexual exploitation of a child.

Detectives arrested 26-year-old Christian Baumgart and 41-year-old Ronald Dennison on the 100 block of Providence Street Monday evening.

Detectives with the Cyber Crimes unit discovered pornographic images involving children, including a toddler, on a home computer at their home.

"It's surprising when it involves anyone, but especially someone who works around children on a regular basis," said Jamie Smith, a spokeswoman with the Fayetteville Police Department.

Baumgart teaches chorus at Hoke County High School and Dennison teaches sixth-grade math at East Hoke Middle School. Both men have been suspended with pay for 30 days. After that, the school board will decide whether to retain both men.

Authorities would not say what led to the investigation, but they admit that they have been following the case for several weeks.

Both men are being held at the Cumberland County Jail.
