FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Cumberland County authorities have arrested a 12-year-old boy and charged him with taking a gun onto school property.
The child, whose identity was not released, was taken into custody shortly after 1 p.m. Tuesday.
Detectives were called to Pine Forest Middle School in Fayetteville, where the boy is a student, after school officials discovered a fully loaded semi-automatic handgun.
Authorities have not released any other information about the case.
