Sony Ericsson To Incorporate Google Blogger, Web Search Tools on Phones

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC — Sony Ericsson is teaming up with Google to add blogger and web search features to some of its mobile phones.

Sony Ericsson, a joint venture between entertainment giant Sony and wireless phone company Ericsson that has a major operation in RTP, said the joint effort has produced the first pre-loaded blog application on mobile phones.

The blogger tool, which includes the ability to automatically establish a blog for someone who does not have one, is available on K610 UMTS, K800 and K790 handsets.

The phones will also come pre-loaded with applications to utilize Google web search,

"We are seeing exponential growth in blogging and consumers are turning more and more often to the Internet as a means of sharing information or images in personal blogs," said Jan W�reby, head of sales and marketing for Sony Ericsson. "By working with Google, we're able to offer a quick and easy way for people to blog as they discover how convenient it is as a way to share words and pictures with friends, family and beyond."
