NASH COUNTY, N.C. — A Nash County woman survived a 20-foot fall.
Pam Stafford broke her ankle trying to rescue one of her dogs from an old well underneath a neighbor's home.
The dog died, but Stafford survived two hours, shivering in waist-deep water.
A volunteer firefighter dropped into the well and pulled Stafford to safety.
