JOHNSTON COUNTY, N.C. — The Highway Patrol is investigating an accident that involved a Johnston County sheriff's deputy.
Investigators said the deputy hit a car he did not see in the middle of Cornwallis Road. Authorities said that car had just been in an accident with another vehicle.
Investigators said the initial wreck was after a race between two drivers.
There is no word on any charges.
