CARY, N.C. — Two students at a Cary high school had a Taser gun used on them after getting into a fight Friday morning.
School officials said the two male students at Middle Creek High School started arguing when one student said to the other, "Do you have an eye problem?"
Five adults were unable to separate the two during the fight in the commons area at the school.
School Resource Officer Ryan Orr with the Cary Police Department tried to break up the fight, but was unsuccessful.
He then "dry stunned" the students with a Taser gun, which is a method where the device is applied directly to the body instead of firing it from a distance.
"These two young men began arguing and fighting about a silly matter," said Principal John Williams. "When students to not follow reasonable directives to maintain order and safety, additional means will be used."
Williams said the two students, who are both 16 years old, would be disciplined according to Wake County school policy.
