RALEIGH — Fire crews were called out to a Raleigh high school early Monday.
Alarms went off just after 6 a.m. atSoutheast Raleigh High School. The fire was contained to just one classroom.
Classes were delayed as crews worked to get smoke from the building and make sure it was safe to enter.
"Here at Southeast we take as many steps as possible to ensure that we do have a safe school campus," says Principal John Modest. "This happened early this morning, and so no one was on campus, thank God."
Students and staff waited at the football field while the school was inspected.
No word on the amount of damage to the classroom. Raleigh police are investigating.
