Durham Rescue Mission Helps Make Christmas Possible for Many

Lines formed as early as 8 a.m. for the Durham Rescue Mission's annual holiday dinner. Nearly 600 volunteers were on hand to help make the annual community Christmas party possible.

They cooked up and served more than 100 donated turkeys. Volunteers also distributed piles of donated toys.

"A lot of these people are working people. Yet they have no extra money for the toys or the winter coats for the children. So this is a great hope to them and this is exciting to us that the community is coming together to make this possible," says Gail Mills of the Durham Rescue Mission.
