Byron Waring in court

A jury found a Raleigh man guilty of first-degree murder Thursday in the stabbing death of a 22-year-old woman.

Jurors took 27 minutes to return their verdict against Byron Waring. Waring is one of two men charged with the Nov. 8, 2005 slaying of Lauren Redman.

Police said Redman was raped and stabbed more than 20 times inside her Raleigh apartment.

Prosecutors said Waring and Joseph Sanderlin went to Redman's apartment to collect on a debt owned to her former roommate, George Sasser.

Sanderlin is charged with murder in the case, while Sasser is charged as an accessory after the fact.

On Wednesday, jurors listened to a taped confession from Waring.

The sentencing phase will start Friday, when Waring could face the death penalty.

The Devil has a very special place in Hadyes for him. I hope he gets an Express Train there!

The biggest crime here is, that after raping and stabbing someone 20 times, the death penalty is still an "option."

Hope WRAL is front in center with their coverage when this piece of trash gets his slap on the wrist like they all do.

Only positive here is that based on the families reaction in court earlier this week, if he does see the light of day again, they'll be waiting for him.

Why aren't they all getting the Death Penalty? All 3 need to go.

Hopefully this thug will burn. After he gets another dose of justice behind prison walls.

I guess someone did not like the truth being told , as my post got pulled. I feel for this young womans family. *Go to work today, A thug depends on your check*
