RALEIGH — Pets are like children, yours is the smartest, the prettiest and the best. A gathering this weekend in Raleigh lets cat owners show off their fancy felines.
The Paws for Thanks Cat Show brings together all kinds of breeds, including cats in the Household Division. One of the cats was rescued and is up for adoption.
"I work at Bowman Animal Hospital, and one day, somebody left him in a box and drove away," says Shannon Smith, who takes care of the cat. "We found him when we came in, and it was taped up and it was a Jack Daniels box, and that is why his name is Daniel."
You can give several other cats a new home through Second Chance Pet Adoption. Proceeds from the cat show go to N.C. State scholarships and animal rescue groups in the area.
The show continues at the State Fairgrounds Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
