Each day, you can find Ervin Murphy selling homegrown vegetables from his curbside stand on Murchison Road. Rain or shine, hot or cold, he is ready to brace the elements.
"I put on a set of long johns, T-shirt, sweat shirt, my big coat, two pair of socks, my hat and hood, and I'm good to go," he says.
However, Murphy still looks forward to his warm home at the end of the day.
"When I get home, the first thing I do is make sure the heat's on," he says.
However, the way you do that can make a big difference in your heating bill. Quentin Collins from Day and Night Heating & Air Conditioning says the key is consistency.
"I would keep it on about 68 or 70 degrees because you don't want to come home to a freezing home," he says.
Collins says avoid juggling the temperature on your thermostat because it can cause your heating system to work overtime, costing more money.
