Raleigh Police Chief to Retire

RALEIGH — The Capital City will spend the first part of the new year looking for a new police chief.

Mitch Brown is retiring effective December1. He has been chief since 1994 and with the Raleigh Police Department since 1972.

Under Chief Brown, Raleigh and the police force grew, but crime in the city went down.
