— Police blocked off two blocks of South Roxboro Street as they searched for an assailant who fatally shot a teenager who was standing on the front porch of a house Monday evening.

City police said the teen died at Duke University Hospital shortly after being shot while he was at 2427-B S. Roxboro St.

The shots came from a gold car with dark windows, described as possibly being a Toyota Camry or a Saturn, police said.

Police blocked off South Roxboro from Charles Street to Cornwallis Road while they investigated.

Officials asked that anyone with information about the shooting call Durham police investigators at 919-560-4440 or Crime Stoppers at 919-683-1200.

Amvaugha, believe it or not there is a strong gang presence in our military. They get combat/weapons training from the best. Scary huh?

everyone needs to get a conceiled weapon permit and put these sorry thugs down once and for all

I have a simple solution, declare open season on all the oh, so tough, thug, gang bangers and the wanna be's out there. Don't ask qestions, if they are wearing the colors or have the tatoo's, then take them out. The cost of one bullet is well worth saving someone elses life or the price of a trial.

I too feel for this family, however, until NC steps up to do something about the gangs, this will continue to happen. Being from California, I have seen this all to often. Please NC, wake up and please help save our children before it's too late. Parents, wake up and see who, where, what your children are doing and whom they're doing it with.

I HAVE AN IDEA! How about the gov't send all of the wanna be gang bangers and murders to Iraq? I figure there's no better way for these idiots to prove how "hard" they are than to put them face to face with some terrorist that will give them a run for their money!

My prayers go out to the family. No one should have to bury their child. To many of our young people are dying. My husband and I are mentors to some of the youth in the Raleigh area. I hope we can change some of these kids lives. I pray that some others will also step up and be part of the solution, and stop judging by skin color. Theses children need support and positivity in their lives to keep stuff like this from happening.

My thoughts go out to the family of the murdered teen. Durham had better get a handle on this stuff. Companies don't like to conduct business in areas that have this sort of thing going on. Good luck to Durham police in finding who did this. I wonder if it was the same person who shot the girl in the SUV a few months ago. Never did hear a follow up on that one.

"I hope they find the and send them away for a long time, good luck to the durham police department."

If they are caught they won't be sent away for a long time. Judges like Orlando Hudson, the head judge in Durham, will see to that. It's so sad, sometimes I think innocent lives must mean nothing to these liberal judges. When murders are set free they continue to kill again and again.

No, they can't find any. They must be in Washington D.C. area drinking underage and jumping innocent victims by suprise.
