Larceny, Trespassing Charges Dropped Against Duchess' Rescuer

HARNETT COUNTY — The woman, charged with taking a dalmatian from her neighbors in an animal cruelty case, will not be going to court.

Angie Tompkins was accused of takingDuchess the dalmatianfrom her next door neighbors, the Moats, after seeing that the dog's foot had fallen off.

The Moats filed charges of larceny and trespassing against Tompkins. Those charges have now been dropped.

The Moats were convicted of misdemeanor animal cruelty. They are appealing the charge.
