Hurricane Floydwiped out a majority of the food supplies and food banks across most of eastern North Carolina.
The Food Bank of North Carolina needs help to rebuild their supply.
For the seventh year, it is sponsoringWinn Dixie Day at the Fair.
Just bring four cans of Thrifty Brand food to the State Fair on Thursday, October 19 and you can get in for free.
In the past seven years, fairgoers have contributed more than 1,244,945 pounds of food.
