Cary Playground Brings Together Kids of All Abilities

Posted Updated

CARY — After six years of planning, Kids Together Playground opened in Cary this week, thanks in part to two sisters who helped raise the money to make it happen.

Lindsay and Kristin Holcombe and their friend Helen Rittelmeyer believe disabled people are not given the respect they often deserve, so they built a park to raise awareness.

The park is designed for children of all physical and mental abilities.

Hand rails guide the visually impaired, while ramps and wide walkways provide easy wheelchair access.

The project cost close to $1 million.

The park is located off Cary Parkway near the Wellington Park Shopping Center. It is the only one of its kind in the Triangle.
