CHATHAM COUNTY, N.C. — Chatham County investigators are investigating the death of a 7-day-old infant boy.
According to authorities, the child was found unresponsive by his parents at home early Thursday morning. The father began CPR and rescue workers continued CPR until the infant was pronounced dead at Chatham Hospital around 9 a.m.
The child's body was transported to UNC Hospital for an autopsy. Names have been withheld pending further investigation. Authorities said there where no signs of injury to the infant.
