FRANKLIN COUNTY — Franklin County made a huge drug bust Tuesday. Law enforcement officers stumbled upon several kilos of cocaine while they were serving a warrant for another case.
Gary Yarborough was arrested Tuesday and charged with accessory to murder in connection with the July slaying of a teenage girl in Johnston County.
After the arrest, investigators received a warrant to search the Franklin County home where Yarborough was staying on N.C. 56. They were looking for a murder weapon and found something else.
Authorities say they found anywhere between 10 to 15 kilos of compressed cocaine. Its street value is $17,000 per kilo. Four other people in the house were also arrested.
Authorities also found weapons in the house, but they are not saying whether any of the weapons were connected to the murder.
