<b>DURHAM</b> — An infant and her mother are in critical condition at Duke University Medical Center after a Saturday morning accident in Durham.

Fortunate Chapfika, 26, and her baby, Yemurai Washaya, were thrown from a van when it collided with a Ford Explorer.

The accident happened shortly after midnight at the intersection of Horton and Duke streets.
