SMITHFIELD — Authorities are not sure why, but Sunday afternoon a Smithfield woman's car ran off the road and flipped three times.
They say 77-year-old Nellie Murphy Summerlin was driving on Highway 210 near Galiliee Road when she lost control of her vehicle.
Summerlin was taken by medical helicopter to UNC Hospitals for treatment. She was listed in fair condition late Sunday afternoon.
