Fire Forces Evacuation at Wilson Plant

— A factory in Wilson is open, despite an early morning fire that forced hundreds of workers to evacuate.

Firefighters discovered a fire in an industrial dryer at the Wrangler textile plant about 12:30 a.m.

More than 200 employees waited outside as crews cleared the building of smoke. One person suffered minor injuries.

Workers were back inside by 2:30 a.m. The fire caused about $70,000 in damage.
