RALEIGH — This weekend, the hottest art venue in the Triangle was the North Carolina Museum of Art, where the Rodin exhibit wound up Sunday night.
Museum officials estimated that 30,000 people would make their way through the museum this weekend before the exhibit closed.
The exhibit, the largest ever staged of Rodin's works in the Southeast, opened April 16. Raleigh was the only U.S. venue for the show, which included more than 130 of his well-known sculptures, including "The Thinker," "The Kiss" and works ranging from intimate studies to monumental creations.
During its four-month run, it drew close to 300,000 people to the Museum of Art, more visitors than the museum usually handles in an entire year. -->
