— Police are looking for a suspect who may have been involved with two carjackings in Wake County and a bank robbery in Granville County.

The suspect wrecked the car in a lot near the Wakefield Plantation subdivision. Police say he then stole and got away in a white Honda Acura.

Police say the suspect picked up two accomplices and tried to rob Capital Bank on Linden Avenue in Oxford. Authorities say they were last seen in an area around Interstate 85, Highway 15 and State Road 96.

Law enforcement officers searched on the ground Friday evening while theState Highway Patrolhelicopter searched in the air.

"There are two theories. One, they are laying down in the grass, or they have been able to leave the area. In that case, we will spread out and go from there," says Sgt. Glen Boyd of the Oxford Police Department.

Anyone with any information about the case is asked to contact the Oxford Police Department at919-693-3161.
