Durham Police Offer More Money In Latest Gun Buyback Program

DURHAM — TheDurham Police Departmentis making it easier to give up your guns.

The department is holding its third gun buyback of the year from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Handguns that are turned in will now be worth $100 vouchers, instead of the $50 vouchers that were handed out at previous buybacks.

Guns will be bought back at the following locations: Fire Station #3 at 822 N. Miami Boulevard
  • Fire Station #2 at 1001 Ninth Street
  • Substation #3 at 2000 Chapel Hill Road
  • W.D. Hill Recreation Center at 1308 Fayetteville Street
  • About 30 guns have been collected through the program this year.
