Fayetteville Man Offers To Replace Stolen Flag From State Capitol

Posted Updated

RALEIGH — An American flag was stolen from the State Capitol Monday. Thanks to a good samaritan, another flag has taken its place.

A man from Fayetteville heard about the theft and offered to donate his flag to the Capitol.

The flag hangs between two columns on the capitol's west side, facing Hillsborough Street.

The missing flag was a 12-foot by 20-foot cotton flag. It will cost $2,000 to replace.
